We need:
5g P2NP - Phenylnitropropene
55ml isopropanol IPA PURE
50mg Hg - mercury (III) chloride
8g of aluminum foil (it's better to use thick foil) - or a thin plate of aluminum
50ml 98% glacial acetic acid GAA (you can also use 70% then we do not need water)
50g NaOH - sodium hydroxide
1 ml H2SO4 - sulfuric acid, 50-99%
275ml dH2O - distilled water
1. Mix acetic acid with water, 50ml GAA + 25ml dH20 into a 250ml Erlenmeyer flask.
(If we have acetic acid 99%) if we have acetic acid with a concentration of 70% we do not need to add water only
75 ml of acid.
2. Pour 5g P2NP and 50ml warm IPA into another vessel. leave to cool.
3. When the IPA solution cools down, make aluminum amalgam .. cut 1x1 squares of aluminum,
add 200ml of dH2O, add 50mg of Hg and stir. after 5-10 minutes there will be a gray precipitate in the jar.
this means that the amalgamation process has started.
Wait about 10 minutes and wash the aluminum with water 3 times. then pour out sediment and mercury.
4. Now you are ready for the reaction process. add aluminum amalgam to acetic acid with water.
wait about 3-5 minutes until the solution is gray. you can mix slightly
5. Then add P2NP solution and mix a little. After adding within 5-10 minutes it will start
violent stormy reaction. therefore we leave it alone for 20-25 minutes.
6. During this time, the entire solution will boil, so cover the top of the flask with a condenser.
you can put a glass funnel there and inside the funnel a thermometer to test the temperature.
7.After the storm reaction, it's time for reflux. Put the flask with the condenser in boiling
water self, i.e. in a pot of water for 1 hour on the heating plate.
8. After 45 minutes you can see that the solution is pink.
9. After reflux, allow the solution to cool to room temperature.
You will see a red / yellow solution.
10. As the solution cools down, we need NaOH. Add 50g of NaOH to the jar
and pour 50ml of distilled water. The solution will be very hot, it will need to be cooled down.

11. After the two solutions have cooled down, start pouring in NaOH solution, pour in half of the solution

12. Collect the top layer with a syringe, this will be the amphetamine free base.
13. pH should be 11, it's downhill now .. you need to replace the amphetamine free base
on amphetamine sulfate.
14. Solution of 1 ml of sulfuric acid with 5 ml of IPA. Drop by drop, pour in the acid solution.
You will see the amphetamine sulfate appear. Add acid solution to pH 7.
15. Filter the amphetamine sulfate and let it dry at room temperature.
16. You got 3.5g of amphetamine sulfate with 5g of P2NP or 70% yield.
